Hi,
In the early 2000s, my teacher read aloud a book to my class that I believe was titled something along the lines of "The Irish Prince" or "The Tales of the Irish Prince". The cover itself showed a man on horseback (it looked similar to the cover of "The Last Irish Prince", but I don't believe that one contains the plot that I mention below). I don't remember much in the plot except for that the man's love interest is the daughter of a witch, and the witch tries to break them apart. The witch has three daughters so she says he must touch them through a curtain or door without looking at them and be able to tell by touch alone who is his lover -- only if he can do so will the witch allow them to be together. The prince successfully identifies his lover because she cuts off her finger so when he feels her finger bone, he knows it is her.
Thanks!
