By popular request, you can now choose how you want the "Edit Book" page to lookâcompact, roomy, or just standard?
Click the "cog" and you can set how you like it.

Not working for the "Add manually" page. I have it on "Compact", but it's no different from the "Standard". The entire right half of the page is white space.

Compact FTW!!! ;) Thank you

Thanks! I was going to ask about the book details page, but now that I've changed it on the Edit page I can see that the Details page is compact as well. A bit non-obvious, but it works.

Can the issue in >4 lilithcat: please be fixed? Thank you.

There is no bug here. It adjusts the vertical space between fields. That's all it does.

Yes. The width is constrained. It was so before, and is so now. When text gets too long, it gets hard to read, as your eye finds it hard to find the next line. That's why books are a certain width and newspapers print in columns, not one long line across the page.

>10 timspalding: I am so impressed and pleased by this answer! SO few people get this about reading!! I've run into it mostly in the context of posters, where people want to make these huge wide paragraphs and there's just no way the eye can find the beginning of the remainder of the sentence.

I know I suggested this somewhere else but I can't remember where - it might be nice to add a(n empty) left side bar to the Manual Add page so that it matches the rest of the site and doesn't look so jarring.
