Have you read any Adam and Eve stories? Beyond the one in the Bible, I mean.
I am always interested in an Adam and Eve story, poem, song, and even jokes—although the jokes are usually a tad risqué. But funny.
It started back when I was in high school and we had to study the 17th century poems Paradise Lost. You can guess how enthusiastic we teens were, which was not very. We weren't all heathens, though; we did love Cat Steven's "Morning Has Broken" and Led Zeplin's "Stairway to Heaven." Hm, we also loved Carl Douglas' "Kung Fu Fighting" so yeah, maybe we were heathens still.
Then I discovered Mark Twain's The Diaries of Adam and Eve. Adam was a grump and liked his alone time. Eve was inquisitive and ridiculously naive. They were wonderful!
Here is an early passage in Adam's diary,
I fell in love with its perfect charm of life in Eden, especially when I learned Twain wrote the Eve diary after his wife died, and he missed her.
There must be a zillion takes on Adam and Eve, surely. I only know a few so would love to know if you've read any good ones.

Ha! Was that not what you were expecting?

"This new creature with the long hair is a good deal in the way. It is always hanging around and following me about. I don't like this; I am not used to company. I wish it would stay with the other animals. Cloudy today, wind in the east; think we shall have rain....We? Where did I get that word? I remember now—the new creature uses it.

I can only think of the opening of Good Omens with its scene in the Garden of Eden, I've not read the bible but knew enough to appreciate the comedy in this.

>2 AnishaInkspill: Thanks Anisha! I'll check that out sometime. I saw part of the Netflix series so I have an idea of the dark humor.

I thought of another title that sort of fits, East of Eden. My least favorite Steinbeck (although he considered it his magnum opus), it is a "take" on the story of Adam and Eve after the fall. And over-written in my view.
