Tracking DNF

How do you track DNF books? Do you put the date you stopped reading and count it towards you overall year total? Do you leave the date blank? Something else entirely?

>1 blackcatbarrera: I leave the date finished blank (so it won’t count toward my total read, if I’m interested in that), and I both tag it as “abandoned” and move it to my “Abandoned” collection.

I use DNF tag and collection. Belt and suspenders. I'm weird that way.

I have a collection for them and leave the finish date blank.

I have a vague memory that it used to be date "stopped" rather than finished? I'm not sure, but that's how I use it. I have a tag, too, and often use the review field to say why I stopped reading with no intention of continuing. But that's mostly so I can remember why in the future!

I treat "date abandoned" as equivalent to "date finished" and fill it in accordingly.

I also track my annual reading with the tags "read yyyy" and "read yyyy (DNF)" so I can see at a glance how many of each I had in a given year.
