I just received a notification (“from Tim”) informing me that I have new recommendations. But I’ve turned off notifications about recommendations (I went and checked to make sure) so I’m guessing some kind of bug is on the loose?

>1 PawsforThought: This seems to be a new wrinkle (though I haven't figured it out yet). I got a notice from Tim, too, but that was a different notice -- and led to a different set of recommendations -- than the usual notice. Which I also got. Two notices, of different types, for two apparently-different sets of recommendations, a few hours (well, maybe a few dozen hours) apart.
I do think there might be a bug in there, though, because the Tim notice said I had, I think, 42 recommendations, and I had many more than that when I clicked on the link.

I got a message last week as well despite having my notifications disabled for recommendations. I figured it is because of the ongoing issues and just a one off (and it is a message and not a notification).

>5 knerd.knitter: Figured. But if these are switching to messages, we need a way to stop them. :) and for a lot of members, there is no distinction just because LT wants to have one - saying that you don’t want to be notified for new recommendations should stop any kind of notifications - even if LT technically uses another channel.
As I said - I am fine with a one off but I hope this is not something that will happen regularly.

I am pretty sure it was a message. And I agree with >7 AnnieMod:, if we’ve asked not to be notified about something, then the form the notification takes should be irrelevant. No means no.
