Do not include links to outside sites unless they are obviously informative and useful. It should not look like your purpose is to get people onto other sites.
Use LT's features such as touchstones and abouts. This shows that you understand the site.
Try posting somewhere where others interested might see it, but not where it is going to be in everybody's face.
