The List: The Red Tent / Anita Diamant --The Four Winds / Kristin Hannah -- Pachinko / Min Jin Lee -- The School for German Brides / Aimie K. Other suggestions? One I liked from the NYT comments: To the Lighthouse though books about the previous generation (Woolf's) might not be considered historical enough, though it may seem that way to the offspring. I probably would not recommend a book I'm currently reading unless you want Mom to give you the side-eye all day: Beloved by Toni Morrison, though it's definitely historical
