I was trying to help sort out problems with the listings of the prolific author Dandi Daley Mackall but I seem to have messed it up a bit.
The problem was that all authors catalogued as Dandi were being assigned to her. It was difficult to find out why because the Dandi Daley Mackall author lists didn't include a Dandi that could be separated out.
One of her supposed works was የነጋሶ መንገድ, which is actually written by Ethiopian author Daniel Tefera (Dandi), and it was listed with a group of other titles under one of the author names, Dandi Daley Mackall. Checking some of the other books in the group, it was clear that they were all catalogued as written by Dandi, so I separated out this name and forced a name change by temporarily making the canonical name Dandi.
I was then able to reassign the author of የነጋሶ መንገድ to Dandi 1 (Daniel Tefera). I was also able to assign the author of Vishrutcharitam (विश्रुतचरितम- महाकविदण्डी विरचितः) to Dandi 2 (Dandi, Mahakavi). After a brief attempt to assign some of the other books listed to different Dandis, I realised I couldn't be sure who any of the authors actually were so left them all as Dandi (unknown) - many/all could be Dandi Daley Mackall.
I should have stopped there but Vishrutcharitam, and some of the other titles, were still showing as being written by Dandi Daley Mackall when you hovered over the title, rather than Dandi. I tried combining author names like 'Retold by Dandi' and 'Dandi (Retold by)' to Dandi, with no effect. Unfortunately I then tried combining another 'Dandi' with Dandi, only to find it was actually a main Dandi Daley Mackall group with 302 titles (I thought it was 'Dandi' I combined but this group can now be found under 'Dandi (retold by)').
I split it back out but it's left author combination issues that need to be cleared up.
Could someone please look at tidying up the problems I've caused. The author apparently now has Common Knowledge edits adhering to a secondary, combined author name.

I have separated off many of the names that had been combined in. I have marked this as a single author. No names should be combined back in unless theu only refer to this author. If there are books by her in other author names that also include other authors, those pages can be divided and a single division ALIASED, not combined into the main author page.
