funky results for 2 author pages (same person, different name formation)

I'm looking at the pages for J. D. Klett ( https://www.librarything.com/author/klettjd ) and James D. Klett ( https://www.librarything.com/author/klettjamesd ) . I've used the touchstones but also provided the URLs because the touchstones are giving "no results".
What's up with that?
These are the same person, the 2nd author of Microphysics of Clouds and Precipitation. I wanted to combine the 2 pages, but a "Combine with ..." search for either author on the other author's page come up "no results". In fact, so a does a search for either off in the "Search LibraryThing" box at the top of any page.
Edited to add spaces before & after URL's so they were accessible within the ()'s.

Please fix your URLs so they work.
Please also do not combine initials with names unless you are 100% sure thar there will never be another author with that initial.

I can think of multiple ways to interpret "combine initials with names", so I'd like to clarify that. Do you mean, "do not combine a personName of the form
'initial(s) + familyName'
with a personName of the form
'givenName(s) + familyName'
or
'givenName(s) + initial(s) + familyName'
unless you ..."?
