"site not responding"

I am getting "site not responding" errors and/or page freezing. Another member is also reporting this problem. Sometimes when I hit the Preview button, the edited post doesn’t show up. Often when I hit Post it doesn’t go back to this thread but just sits there and appears to be inactive, so I don’t know if the post has posted. Sometimes I’ll lose a whole post because it didn’t post and other times I get duplicate posts because I’ve hit the post button twice because there was no response back. Device/browser used.- iPad with Safari and Google Chrome.

I have cleared my casche on base browsers. It appears this problem has started to appear after the new features were introduced. I hope this can be resolved.. TIA.

Here is a screen shot of what I get when going to a LT site. I lost experience time lags when I hit the post button. It says if the page is frozen and I do not know if the post has gone through as it doesn’t return to the friend.
This is happening a lot now.

>2 kjuliff: Ah. Yeah. This was a bump. We had somehow left open one of the language versions of LibraryThing. When our sysadmin closed it, he by mistake closed, um, everything. It should be fine now.

Assigning to CC.

For weeks now I have getting 'Safari can't open the page because it dannot connect to the server.' It's not a major problem, because reloading gets the page immediately.

Just LT, and most times when I switch from another site or try to get LT when I first open my iPad.

Hmmm. Okay, thanks. If Cloudlfare is to blame you generally get a page with "Ray ID" on it—if so, give them to us. But it sounds like that's not happening.

I'm not seeing ANY errors on my end, but I've assigned it to CC, as he may know where to look that I have not.

>8 MarthaJeanne: >5 timspalding: There is a further problem that I’ve experienced in writing a post. It appears that I lose connection to the LT server and I have to wait a while to get a response as I type. I’ve actually lost two posts and had to rewrite them because I’ve had no response in hitting the save button.

I have this same issue (Mac OS 26.5/Safari 26.5 (21624.2.5.11.4)). It is not Cloudflare I think, because it is just a black (I am in dark mode) screen saying it cannot be loaded (Safari native I assume). Refresh loads it. It happens to me after a bit of inactivity (I always have a pinned LT tab open, so it goes inactive all the time).

Let us know if you see any improvement, or non at all.

Thanks.

Early days yet, but this time I did not get the message, just got in, which surprised me.

>13 MarthaJeanne: >14 MarthaJeanne: I think I could get used to this. At least for me, you seem to have fixed it.

BTW, I had not reported it because it started while I was having difficulties with iPad updates, then a new iPad, then updates there, so I rather assumed that it had to do with getting my iOs settings right.

Thanks for the reports everyone, that's a good sign!

Let us know if it crops up again, for now we'll leave this as it is and hope it continues.
