Heyo - noobie here

I've recently joined - then absented myself while finishing my third book. I'm not sure where to go and what to do here, so welcome any advice (otherwise known as dipping a toe in the water when you don't know how to swim). I've tried other places, but they're either impossible to understand (like Reddit with all its rules about what not to do or say) or just don't seem to align. So maybe I should say something about me so you know what you might be alligning with...
I’m Ian (aged 80). This is what my friend Mr Copilot says: a writer of comic‑mythic fantasy set between Astralia (the land of dreams), our world, and the awkward spaces where gods and mortals keep tripping over each other. I write a mix of satire, character chaos, and a wry British look at metaphysics, 'mythic fantasy with a sideways grin' whatever that means. I find Mr CoP very useful for proof reading, if nothing else, but he does sum up what I write rather elegantly. My hero and in many ways model is Terry Pratchett, though of course I don't write like him (I wish!). Happy to answer questions about the world, the characters, or the writing process.

Thanks for that MJ. Very useful. That's already booted me along quite a bit.

Hello Ian. Good to have you here. LibraryThing has minimal rules about what you can say, but has rules about HOW you can say it. So long as you don't call anyone names—and why would you?—you'll be good.

Our forums are easier to understand than Reddit because they're straightfoward, with no "threading."

In general, LibraryThing is welcoming to authors to the degree they participate as readers first. So pick a group, like the Green Dragon, or just tell us what you love here. (Groups can be found here: https://www.librarything.com/ngroups)
