My suggestion has 2 parts:
1) When people upload an author photo, they're presented with 2 fillable boxes, labelled "Title/Description" and "Copyright Statement", but with no instructions. The combination of the labels and the lack of instructions or examples makes it easy for would-be-helpers to do things that the community doesn't appreciate, e.g. filling in the "Title/Description" field with text such as "So-and-so delivering the Such-and-Such lecture at BigU in 2026 B.C.E.".
Better labels on those boxes, possibly accompanied by examples, would yield results preferred by the community and reduce the stress for those volunteers trying to come up with an actual title or description beyond "First M. Last".
2) After an author photo has been uploaded, the text written in that "Title/Description" box (e.g. "First M. Last") appears under the section "About the Author" as follows:
while any text written in that "Copyright Statement" does not appear at all.
"Image credit" is typically understood to mean the person who took, created, and/or provided the photo. However, the person in the LT Author photo is often not the source or taker of the photo, while the person who did take the photo is getting no credit. Furthermore, an image credit is not meaningful "About the Author" content.
Whatever is actually desired in the "About the Author" is not happening (presumably), so changes would be good. Details are left to those with programming authority as an exercise. 😁

There used to be a link to the “Contributing Photos to LibraryThing” wiki page: https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/Contributing_photos_to_LibraryThing
I don’t know why that’s not there anymore, but it would be good to have it back.
