Irish famine

Hello I am looking for a romance set during the great famine in Ireland . The heroine is named Brigid and the hero “Jack Areen” I think. The very first line is “ye
Divil!” As Jack dunks her in the ocean on a beach. Shes laughing though, and says “you started it first, Dunkin’ me.”
Unfortunately the heroine must “submit to the cruel sexual perversions of an English lord”
The paper back had white cover who bluish-green lettering on it. There was a woman on the cover with reddish hair
It came out I. 1986 or 1988
