Books showing as imported but not visible in any collection.

Two days ago, I imported a TSV file containing ~2611 books into an empty collection titled "Mom's Library". The file I used was the export file generated from her LibraryThing library.
(Several days before that, I had tried importing the file and gotten some errors so I deleted all the books in that collection and tried again.)
The import shows as successful. On my Home page it says I have 2620 books. But only 15 books are visible in "Mom's Library" (which was empty when I started.)
I've checked to see if there are any books that are "not in a collection" on the "Charts and Graphs" pages. Everything there says that I only have 55 books. The 40 I started with plus the 15 that got added.
When I look at the import details page, it shows 31 failures and everything else as being imported.
Help?
Thank you!
Brenda

>1 bkramar: I cleared your caches and now it looks like 2620 books are visible.

>2 knerd.knitter: Thank you so much!! Is there anything that I should be doing differently the next time or some way for me to clear the cache without having to bother you guys?
(Hopefully, won't have any other big imports but I suppose one never knows...)

>2 knerd.knitter: And one more question. When I imported my test sample awhile back, it included all of the tags. There are no tags this time which is a big part of my organizational structure.
- Do I need to delete and reimport in a different way?
- Do I need to re-import without deleting?
- Do I need to clean up any failures before doing either of the above

>4 bkramar: You can only get tags imported if you use the spreadsheet import at https://www.librarything.com/import which requires the file to be formatted exactly like the sample file.

>3 bkramar: Only we can clear your cache, so it's fine to reach out and ask us to do it if you see this kind of discrepancy.

Format the original file like the spreadsheet and import? Should I delete everything in the collection first or trust that it will match the tags to the existing books? There are intentional duplicate books with different tags (multiple copies stored in different places.)
Something else?

>7 bkramar: Brenda, I had a similar situation, I did an initial import, deleted that import and then used the sample spreadsheet. I organized my data from my older spreadsheets, and then cut-and-pasted that data into the sample format, using only the sample spreadsheet columns. Like you, I really wanted my tags to appear and was very pleased with the result (all my tags were imported). I don't have nearly as many books as you and also I don't have duplicates, so I can't say how they will be handled. If there is an issue with duplicates, you could always sort your own spreadsheet, flag your duplicates, and then enter just those (if they are missing). Also, I added several "collections" tags to my other tags. Once imported, I filtered those "collections" tags, moved those books to the corresponding "collection," and then deleted the "collection" tag from my regular tags (if that makes sense). Good Luck!

>8 SereneReads: Totally makes sense. Many of my tags mirror collections for just that reason! Thank you. I don't have time to do it right now but unless knerd.knitter replies with a different answer, I'll delete and use the sample spreadsheet. I appreciate the tip on handling the duplicates!

>7 bkramar: You will need to delete because I don't think that import updates existing books.

>10 knerd.knitter: OK. I've done that and reimported. Now, it's showing over 2000 books in the totals.....but not in the collection... so I think we need another cache refresh?

>11 bkramar: I'm hoping that I've fixed this problem for good. I did just reset your cache, so let me know if the books are still missing.
