After importing my books, searching my collection by tag name returns limited and inconsistent results.
From the "Your books" page with 'All Collections' specified, when I search for a tag like "LR11_box", it returns 1 book. Interestingly that one book, is one where I manually re-added the ISBN (since importing with tags means you can't import the ISBN.) This seems to be consistent behavior: if I edit the book, add the ISBN, and Save it, the book appears in the next search for that tag. Simply editing the book, changing nothing, and saving does not produce this result.
If I go to the Home page and click on tags for that collection, I can see that LR11_box has 29 books associated with it and if I click that link, I get them all.
But not if I search the collection.
Thanks,
Brenda

>1 bkramar: How long after the import was this happening? I wonder if the indexing just hadn't happened yet, but when you edited the ISBN, then the indexing was pushed through for that book.

>2 knerd.knitter: It's a plausible theory for sure and that was my first assumption so I logged off and came back 24 hours later.
However, as of this morning....still no searchability on tags unless I've manually added the ISBN. I can search on everything else and get what I assume are the correct results: author or title, for example.
I experimented a bit over the last day and the tags are still not searchable even if I:
- Clicked on "Edit" and saved with no changes.
- Clicked on Edit and chose a cover.
- Used Power edit to change the Media Type for a group of books.
As soon as I add the ISBN and save, the cover auto-populates, other data is pulled in, and the book instantly shows up when I search on the tag. Very strange.

>3 bkramar: When I search "LR11_box" I get 28 books, which is the same I get when I click that tag in the catalog. Do you have another example that's still behaving this way?

>4 knerd.knitter: Sure, Try B_officebox1 or any of the Kitchen box numbers (Kitchen1_box, etc)
I've manually added ISBNs for LR11_box. LR10_box, LR8_box, B_OfficeBox8. Those seem to be working as expected.

>3 bkramar: The bit about the cover not populating until after the ISBN is entered makes sense since the ISBN is how it knows which Amazon cover to grab

>5 bkramar: We reindexed your catalog, and I think the tag search should be working now. I think the problem was that it wasn't actually reindexing after the import, but we're fixing that so we make sure it happens after the imports from now on.

>7 knerd.knitter: Thank you!! That seems to have fixed it!

>6 jjwilson61: OK. I wish there was a good way to easily re-import more of the things together (ISBN, tags, public and private comments, other "flat data") but I can at least work with this now.
As a side note: I WAS finally able to get a small CSV import to work with both ISBN and tags but I had to manually take the brackets off the ISBN numbers (from the export file) before pasting them into the sample. Since I have a working catalog now, Im just going to move forward with a copy and paste of the ISBNs from my spreadsheet into LT over time to get the covers.
Thanks for y'alls help.
