Author won't spilt

The currently single author Robin Cox needs to be split into at least two authors, one a socialist Marxist commentator, the other a Christian mentor, and there's a couple of of other works likely to be by neither of the above. However, having assigned the works to split author numbers and saved the page, the author remains a singleton.

I was able to start a split.

Did you click on the Divided author button?

I believe something's changed with the way splitting happens, during recent updates to that page. It used to be that assigning some works, and hitting "Save assignments", was enough to split the author page, but now we actively have to select the button "divided author" as well, to make it happen. It's caught me out a few times. I'll reopen this as a bug, because how it used to behave was more seamless than now.
