Mis-assigned ISBN

The ISBN for Judith Tarr's "The Hall of the Mountain King" is 032942109. What comes up is Joseph Kanon's "The Good German"--with Judith Tarr as co-author, which I respectfully beg leave to doubt.

>1 Ashley: This is not a bug; it's a data/combination issue. If you don't know how to correct that, this should be taken to the Combiners group, where people can help you out or do the task for you.

The Hall of the Mountain King
The Good German

Yes, both of these works seem to have 0312942109 as one of many ISBNs. (Note the 031 at the beginning). This is because sometimes piblishers reuse ISBNs. They aren't supposed to, but they do. This is not an LT bug. Closing.

You do not say where it "comes up". That seems to be an Amazon result. If you are trying to enter it, use the add books page with the correct ISBN using Overcat as your source.

>1 Ashley: I'm not sure what you've been through, but if you're relying on the ISBN that's printed on the cover, it may be worthwhile checking to see if a different ISBN is recorded on the reverse of the cover page, with the rest of the publishing information.

Or even if there is no other publishing information there - for a mass market paperback of a certain age the back covers will have UPC codes that had nothing to do with the ISBN and the back of the front cover will have the actual ISBN.
