I'm manually entering data for a 1961 copy of Isaac Asimov's "Words from the Myths" and the field for entering the LCCN seems to be not functional. Is this on purpose or and advanced feature I need to do something special to activate? Thanks

Words from the Myths You should be able to enter the LCCN under Classification (not Identifier). But if you don't, you will get a LCCN once your copy is combined with the main work.

>1 Esper_Ranger: LCCN is not an editable field. You can only get it by using a source that has it. Most Identifier fields are not editable.
Searching LoC with just a title, I got Houghton Mifflin, 1961 edition, which comes with LCCN.

Never mind. No, it's not editable. Maybe we should allow it to be?

If the field is there, I myself would like it to be editable for my vintage stuff. Also choosing a currency value would be nice too since I buy a lot of books when I'm in Japan and would like to enter the price in Yen. But that may be another thread.

>4 timspalding: I wish it were editable. I've got a lot of uncommon books, so I use a wide variety of international libraries for import and yet still end up manually entering a lot of works. I often do have an ISBN, but find the work isn't in a library whose MARC record includes it, or else find it's an early edition that I can't find an LT-available library entry for.
