Change with 'Set Collections'?

Couldn't find this information by searching; happy to be pointed in the right direction if it's out there.

I regularly use 'Set Collections' via 'Your Books' to change which collections a book is in. I thought -- in the past -- clicking the icon popped up the list of my collections and I could select and deselect as needed. Now I find the pop-up list of collections automatically disappears after I make one change, meaning I need to click the icon, make a change, click the icon, make a change, etc. to make multiple changes.

Curious if this was a purposeful change? Or could I be experiencing a bug? Or is this evidence my memory is failing and it's always been this way?

I can check this. It wasn't something that was intentional.
