In July, we are taking a trip to Canada and spending some time with Gabrielle Roy (1909–1983).
She wrote in French and most of her work deals with the working class life in Manitoba and Quebec.
A new author for me so this should be interesting. What do you plan to read? And if you had read her before, don't hesitate to share recommendations and thoughts as well.

I'll be reading The Tin Flute, which I believe is set during WWII.

She’s not in the public domain yet, and as a Canadian hard to find in German libraries. I am also moving to a new apartment in July and don’t think I’ll have much time for reading, so I will return to this author later, when things have settled down.

>3 MissWatson: That's a pity you won't be able to read her. If you read French, the libraries may have her in that language.
I'll be reading Where Nests the Water Hen.

>4 SassyLassy: I do, and I intend to check the university library in my new town. After my move.

>5 MissWatson: Best of luck with the move, especially the books.

>6 SassyLassy: Thanks. The books are a nightmare, but hopefully the movers have done this before.

I borrowed La montagne secrete at my library. Should be able to finish it in July.

I am really enjoying little sketches of Pierre's life in the far north. Will finish this first part of The Hidden Mountain today.
