In August we are taking our first trip to the Victorian era this quarter with George Gissing (1857–1903).
As most of the novelists of the era (he managed 23 of those), he strayed from novels and also wrote stories, a travel book and a critical study of Dickens.
He is one of the Victorians I had not gotten around to yet.
What do you plan to read? And if you had read him, what would you recommend?

I have New Grub Street on my schedule.

I've read several of Gissing's books, and for those who haven't read him, would recommend starting with New Grub Street or The Odd Women.
