Hi
Looking for a British humorous novel from roughly 1992–98. Set in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Possibly featured an Aylesbury duck. One character's name was something like Norman/Normal Malarkey. Cover may have shown a photograph of an Aylesbury landmark with arches and possibly included a duck. Same author wrote another novel about people working on an endless, apparently pointless construction (or excavation) project whose purpose is never explained. Humour was in the vein of Tom Sharpe but wasn't Tom Sharpe, Robert Rankin or Tom Holt. Author may only have published two or three novels.
Thanks.
