I've just finished Something Rotten and i think I've got most of the references but the Blue Fairy who makes Kane real through me. It rings a very faint bell but I'm not sure where it's originally from, does anyone know?

Yup, I'm pretty sure the Blue Fairy is from Pinocchio. At least there was definitely a blue fairy in the Disney version, and while that's usually no indication of accuracy... well, it also fits the reference.
