I've got a Holga. Purchased it a few months ago, but have yet to get any of the film developed. Fingers crossed some of it actually comes out :-)

i used several konica panoramic plastic cameras. althought they were made as only-one-use cameras, i could use them more times. i put some pictures made with them in the net:

I use my Holgas a lot... I have one for 120 film and one with a Polaroid back. I also have a Lubitel and a Brownie, but I don't use those as often.

I haven't done much myself, but my wife has a Holga, a Raleigh (Diana clone), and a whole raft of nasty trashcams that she gets some pretty interesting results with. I'm more of an Olympus XA and Nikon type myself. There are a couple of toy camera books we have that I haven't entered into LT yet.

I love my Holgas (one with flash, one without). I get such interesting images with them. Some have been true works of art (imho ~ lol). One of these days, I'm going to get them digitized. Right now, they are just prints.

I'm a big fan of toy cameras - it's laid back, stress-free shooting (well, as long as I don't forget to tape the back of my Holga on to keep it from falling off!).
Stray light leaks only add to their casual charm. :)

Why, thank you! It's funny that this comment came today; I've not been around for awhile either and am catching up on some of my groups. :)
The vignetting on the edges is classic Holga - lovely what you can get from those plastic lenses. ;)

I'm with ulan25, terriks ~ that image is lovely, and it's making me long to pull out my old Holga too and do a little fun shooting with it. I just adore the vignetting and light leaks and all.

Ok guys I am real green....what is a toy camera?

hi! i'm not an expert, but my understanding of toy cameras is that they are functional cameras, but usually made of plastic, most times including the lens. One example is the Diana, a camera that uses medium format film. Another is the Holga which is similar to the Diana. The "inferior" (not sure if that's the best word for it) construction of the camera gives the images a certain character.
Sometimes the parts don't fit together well, and light leaks into the film chamber. But for toy camera enthusiasts, this isn't a problem. Sometimes the leaks add to the character. The fuzziness in the images produced because of the plastic lens are also part of the charm of using these cameras.
Check out www.toycamera.com -- you'll see a gallery of images taken with toy cameras. =)
