Yikes! I know the Katherine Hepburn version of Little Women arrived in the mail this week, but now I can't find it!

Found it! St. Anthony comes through again! It was in with all the political mailings to be recycled.

Who suggested this movie? They better be there after all I went through! From what I remember, this was my least favorite of the three versions I have seen, but maybe the June Allyson one was. Elizabeth Taylor was a great self-centered Amy, but Margaret O'Brien was kind of a whiney Beth.

I have the wrong version (Winona Ryder) but will watch that at least so long as I can come to chat. I have birthday preparations to make for another one of my sisters. One birthday down for the month, three more to go.

So, Monty Python and the Holy Grail tomorrow night. Foggi is bailing on me for some sort of Hallowe'en party. Is anyone else going to be there?

I am waiting to see if it gets here in time in the mail. If not, I think my brother in the next town has a copy.

Mr A & I have the flu so we will probably be there.

Actually i don't appear to have contracted the virulent strain of plague that is afflicting MsD... yet.

When I was in college Bib got me a poster that was the lines from the entire play. It hung on my dorm wall for 3 and a half years.

Arghhh...I have the movie and I have internet; but no way to get them even remotely into the same room. I'm trying to solve this by somehow commandeering a laptop and getting the wireless to work in my room, but alas, I don't foresee that happening for quite some time. Enjoy. It's one of the great ones.

Sometime soon is "answer the phone like elf day." I have forgotten what day that was supposed to be. I hope I haven't missed it!

I had to google that immediately of course. It's apparently December 18, which is a week from Thursday. I'm pretty sure I could get away with it at work, since usually when I answer the phone LCS this is Heather, the first question out of people's mouth is "is this LCS?"

*gasp* I think I might be able to join the group movie watch this Saturday! That's a first for a long time. Since September I've been busy every Saturday with competitions except for Nov. 29, but I went to see Twilight for a second time with friends. At least I didn't have a lot of those movies anyway. And I love Elf! :)

Nuh Uh! I don't believe it. I rented the movie for this week, not knowing it was the movie for this week! I just happened upon it in the rental store, and thought "Hey! Some HE'ers thought this was a good movie, I should get it."

No I haven't. I seriously wasn't even thinking about the GMW. I was just roaming and it caught my eye. I'm excited!

I might be able to join in tomorrow for the movie watch. It will depend on if I get off work on time and if I can find a copy. I've never seen it, either.

And yey! I get January 3rd off work, so I can be here for Prince Caspian. I saw it in theaters with suge this summer.

Now we're watching it again, so we can see the first half. yay!

I'm picking up a copy after work tomorrow. Target's right next door.

I took my second trip to Target looking for it today and they had it in Blu-Ray, which I don't have. I ended up spending my gift certificate on season 4 of The Office instead. I'm hoping it will be available On Demand, otherwise I'm out of the game on this one. :(

ETA: I just checked and it's available On Demand, so I'll be there!

LOL, I like how some in the past that I wanted to watch but didn't make it, I ended up watching. I saw The Muppet Christmas Carol, Elf, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and the end of The Nightmare Before Christmas. And I can't make it this Saturday but I watched Prince Caspian a couple days ago in Blu-Ray cause we got a Blu-Ray disc player for Christmas!

I really hope I'm able to see Ratatouille with everyone!

I just got my copy of the movie. See you guys on Saturday! I'm supposed to have the following Saturday off as well, so I should be there for GoF, too. I think I'm going to have a lot more Saturdays off until work picks up again.

I am watching the extras disk from Prince Caspian while I pack up my Christmas stuff. The reason the werewolf in this is better than the Lupin one is it is a guy in a suit, not CGI! Maybe that is why the centaurs are better, too. The HP franchise uses CGI way too much.

I never liked the HP centaurs. I had never pictured them as being blue, either.

No reason you should have pictured them that way, as they aren't described as blue...more has handsome with various tints including red, grey, chestnut and palomino.

I think I will make it this week to the group movie watch...Yayyy...

I'm still going to be able to make it tomorrow, but the Saturday after will vary. I'm off work a half hour later than I need to be to take a bus home from work in time for the movie. If I can find a ride home, though... I'll fast fordward if I miss the first few minutes.

I'm hoping I'll be done with everything to make it tonight. I'm going to try really hard.

I don't know if I can watch the movie tonight now or not. One of my sisters took our dvd cord to use on her dvd player three days ago and keeps forgetting to bring it back. She claims she's bringing it back later today in time but I'm not counting on it. Her word isn't usually any good. *grumbles*

I'm working on the movie for tomorrow night. I think I might have a friend that has it. We'll see.

I know I said this last Saturday, but I won't be there this week, as I'll be onstage and then getting my party on! In fact, I won't be there for the next few weeks, but I should be back for "Stranger than Fiction".

Tomorrow night may be slim pickings, as far as movie attendees are concerned. I have a friend coming from out of town. Not sure yet what our plans are -- we do have the movie, though, so if she feels like watching along with us, Espy and I may be there . . . but don't count on us.

Seabiscuit tomorrow night! This is one of the few instances for me where a movie has lived up to the book. I loved them both. I am not a horse person, but it is a great story.

I'm not working during the movie tomorrow. Seeing it will depend on if I go to see a doctor or not, though I think places are only open in the earlier part of the day. I do need to hunt for a copy of the movie.

I have to say, animal movies are touch and go here. I would need to know how it works out for the horse because of extreme sensitivity issues. (the movie Ring of Bright Water was probably one of the worst--10 on the crying hysterically scale. I've never even attempted Old Yeller.)

Plus, my youngest has class the next morning, and I've found if I do the movie watch, she's a monster to wake up in the morning. :o(

JP: Although there is not an Old Yeller ending, Seabiscuit is based on a true story and is definitely not a kids movie.

I love that movie! I hope I can see it with you guys! At this point I don't know tomorrow's plans aside from working. I get off a half hour before the movie starts and have five minutes to run to the bus stop before the bus gets there. If I can find a copy of the movie I will certainly try to be here!

We can sit around twiddling our thumbs for a little bit if you think you can be there a few minutes late, and of course, you're always welcome to join in whenever you can!

LG, I'm not a big fan of Jim Carey either. I was very disappointed in the Seuss movies. You guys know how much I like Seuss. I won't be there, because we have no power. I'm mooching off a friends wireless internet access while we're visiting. If we're back over here tonight, I might check in with you guys.

When I first saw the movie I thought it would be just another Jim Carey vehicle, but I really liked it. He does a good job in the part and the kids are well cast, too.

I won't be there tonight or next week. Tonight I'm taking my parents out to see Pink Panther 2.

Next week, I watching a bunch of kids at church. That way there parents can go out.

Oh! Excellent, Ron! Thank you I feel like such a newbie!! I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it next week tho I love Howls moving castle. I but I had such a blast on Sat., guys! Thanks you all for being your fabulous selves! I find myself picturing your comments when I watch stuff.

I've also started posting it on the group homepage, in the paragraph that talks about the group movie watch.

I would volunteer to host Twilight but am unsure when my copy will arrive. I paid for it when I preordered but it supposedly won't be shipped until sometime after April 13th (which I think is ridiculous. I preordered the Borders Exclusive dvd however, and past February 4th). I'm afriad to guess when I might receive it.

So, I'm thinking about changing the date of my movie watch to Friday, March 27th at 9:30 and here's why:

March 28th at 8:30 PM local time is Earth Hour. I know I'm planning to participate, which means I won't have my TV or PC on for that hour. While I would be back up for a 9:30 movie watch, that's the time at which those in the next time zone over would be turning off, etc. I'm hoping others are planning to participate, so I think it would be better to watch the day before. Is anyone else planning to participate? Or should I just leave the time as is? Please let me know!

WOW, Bib that sounds like a really cool event. Thanks for making me aware. I can probably read by candle light for an hour. Imagine if everyone chose turned their lights off too? the view from space would be incredible.

Bib! I did it! I signed up for Earth day too! I feel a little guilty because I printed out an info sheet so that I can place it on our bulletin board.

I think it's wonderful that you're changing your movie day for the Earth Hour event! I hadn't known about it and am checking out the site on another tab. I don't know my work schedule that far ahead yet, but a Friday would certainly be easier than a Saturday.

I don't know if I can make it to see Newsies this weekend because of my call-in shift at work. A copy of the dvd arrived just this morning, though.

I'll be off work in time for Serenity next week and my sister says I can borrow her copy so I will see you guys then! It will be the first time I've seen it.

Is there any other name for X-Men II than simply that? I was looking for a copy today. I found X-men, X-men 1.5, and X-men The Last Stand. I'm not sure how many X-Men movies there are. I've seen one of them but have no idea which.

I think the second one is called X2, thy looking for that. I can't get a hold of Newsies and can't afford to buy a copy. I'll probably still come in to the watch though, I watched it about a thousand times in Jr. High so I'm sure I can contribute to the discussion!

I'm planning on being there...It's been a long time since i've made a movie night...I have this movie and am free on Friday nights!!! YAY!!!

I'm sooooo going to try and be there. We have a thing at 6:30. If I leave by 8:15 at the latest, I'll be home before 8:30 and be able to watch (movie time is 8:30 my time).

I might leave for a little bit while helping my sister move in but I should be able to be here tonight. We have a copy of the movie.

I'm really sad that I missed this one. :( My sister is here this weekend and we went to a book sale then out to dinner.

We did watch Twilight and my brother and husband watched it with us. They were hilarious through the whole thing and after it was over, they both went darting from the room moving their arms extra-fast (like in Dumb and Dumber -- "it looks like you're moving at an incredible rate of speed"!) so they could be vampires too.

But I'd have liked to see Serenity with everyone. I haven't made it to a group movie in a while!

Speaking of Twilight, I got a neat little tote bag at Wally World today. They had an entire section dedicated to Twilight with books, jewelry, movies, totes, t-shirts, etc... There was even chips and soda there. Must be expecting big Twilight parties.

I think our DVD player is dying. For a couple of weeks now everything we try to watch in it has frozen up. I've tried using a cleaning disc but we're still having problems. We've been watching movies on the computer, but I can't watch on the computer and do the group movie night at the same time. *sigh*

It's a combo, lefty. The VCR side works fine, so I can't justify tossing it. My green conscience won't allow such waste.

#184 -- The same thing happened to my old combo DVD/VCR. I know what you mean -- it seems like a shame to get rid of the machine when half of it still works! I did buy a new one, but I saved my old one, since I figure VCRs will be difficult to find someday before too terribly long.

I'm hosting next week!! I'm looking forward to it!! I haven't been to a Group Movie Watch in a long long time :S and I miss it. The movie is Spanglish for anyone wanting to get the movie and wants to join us :D

I missed another one! I even had the X-Men movie. I'll see about getting a copy of Spanglish -- I saw it a while ago and really liked it.

I think we've figured out at least one of the reasons our DVD player has been having problems with the library DVD's. Our local library tapes these metal things on the tops of the DVD's to prevent theft. I don't think our player likes them.

Yesterday we watched a DVD from a different library, one that doesn't use that anti-theft device. The DVD stuck once or twice, but it never became unwatchable.

I'll see if I can find a copy of Spanglish in one of the other library branches.

I have a copy of Spanglish but my being here on time will vary. I have a possible extended shift on Saturday that would have me getting home an hour into the movie.

Hi everyone! I think I have Spanglish and I don't believe I have plans for Sat. night, so at the moment I'm in!.....I would love to join a movie night!!

I volunteer to host May 23rd. Not sure what movie, I'll have to double check your already watched list. At the moment I'm thinking possibly The Red Violin, but it might be harder to get a hold of I don't recall ever seeing it at the video stores.

The only problem I have with Love Actually is that we watched it the weekend after Christmas as a group. But it has been over three months, which is really longer than between some of the HP rewatches. So if you want to go with Love Actually then I say go for it.

Hi you guys I have really bad news, my internet connection has been having a lot of problems and right now it's looking like I won't be able to join tomorrow's Group Movie Watch, I am terribly sorry and upset at my internet supplier but since it's a holiday they haven't fixed the problem. I am so sorry (of all the days it could have had problems it had to be the day when I'm hosting a movie :(. ) I hope you guys enjoy the movie and please let me know what you think of it since it is one of my ultimate favorite movies. Again I'm sorry. I am right now at a friend's house and that's why I can let you guys know.

Should those of us who are there tonight pick something else, and wait on Spanglish until Ron can watch with us? Ron, you could try hosting again in a few weeks, maybe, when your internet is back up. Or we could watch it now, and you could host it again in a few months, same movie -- it's one I wouldn't mind watching again in a few months. I just hate for you to miss our commentary on the movie, especially since it's your favorite.

I had bought a copy of Bridget Jones Diary, too, but I have to miss that and Rissa's shower - not for not having time off work - but because my kid sister sprang on me a fundraiser dinner and choir concert tied in together. Ok you guys I officially hate my internet provider and I think I'm getting it changed this week, this means that I can't make it next week, I'm really truly sorry for doing this again and missing my hosting day again. I've actually been back for the past few weeks but I haven't been posting much because I've finally put all of my books into my account! It's been a really long time, I've missed you guys, lol. I have bad news about this weekend. Actually it's kind of a silly rant too. No one ever asks me what my plans are. They just tell me the day before and expect me to go along with it. Soooooo mom tells me we're doing the birthday thing on Saturday night. I told her it was my night to host the movie (she knows we do movies on Saturdays). She gets all mad at me and says well we'll just cancel it all. I tell her that it's my night, and no one asked me if I was busy that night. She says well everyone else is going to a wedding Friday night (our usual get together night), and is planning on doing it Saturday night. She's my mom, I live with her, so I need to go along with her plans. Remember, if momma ain't happy no one is happy.

So my bad news is that I can't host this Saturday. I'm so sorry. You can continue with the same movie or choose a new one. It doesn't bother me.

I'm going to a wedding out of town on Saturday afternoon, so won't be at the movie watch this weekend, either. For those who are here, maybe you could do a Harry Potter re-watch instead? If you all decide to do that, let us know and Kirby can reschedule her movie for later in the summer. At long last, I have updated the schedule in the first post to include MsDonna's movie on June 27th. I also put up the dates for July's movies. There are two dates in July when it's going to be difficult to do a chat room movie watch: July 4th (Independence Day for the American HEers) and July 25th (when many of us will be meeting in person to see HBP). You're still welcome to sign up for those dates, if anyone is interested, but bear in mind that attendance may be extremely low those days. (Dobby will be there, though!) If nobody signs up, we will take those two weeks off.

When are other countries getting HBP? Will you have it by that weekend in Oz? Venezuela? etc. If so, I might suggest having a chat room get together on Sunday night to discuss the movie. Of course, those of us seeing it in groups will have discussed in person as well, but the more the merrier, right?

I hadn't mentioned it but my DVD player (which is a PS2) stopped playing DVDs this month. I get paid tomorrow though, so I'll be buying a cheap-o DVD player this weekend sometime and I'll be back to movie watches once that occurs.

Oz: July 15 (which we amusingly call "the 15th of July" here, and celebrate it on July 14 (USA EST), just to be different).
