As the worldwide economy continues to flounder I am wondering wether I should just take the first job in archives that comes my way or if I should hold out for something better. I am a second career archivist so I do have experience and education behind me. Job postings on the SAA (of which I am now a member) seem sparse. Any advice out there. I am especially interested in finding employers who offer good starter jobs.

If you have no other current offers, take it! You never know who you will meet along the way.

If it is a reasonable fit for you, take it. Look at it as a "foot in the door" opportunity. Best wishes!

It's always been my experience that the first job leads to the second and so on and so forth.

Good luck!!
