Hi, maggiee!
It looks like you have some interesting categories! Not to worry, this is all about fun! :) I do not really think that I can read 81 books, but I find the challenge exciting, and this is a really fun group of people. I look forward to seeing which books you read. Happy Reading!

Obama's Dreams from my Father covers both African and memoir because he talks about his father and his trip to Africa to meet his father's family. It was a little slow, but not a bad read.

Hi Maggiee,
I just learned about Outlander from LT - I'll be interested in what you read in that category. Welcome!

Thank you Lisa, Bj, and Shannon for your messages. I am definitely going to read Dreams of my Father. I am going to try not to overlap any books, but have some in there just in case I am running short by the end of the year. The Outlander books will be a reread for me. I thought I would do it as An Echo in the bone is supposed to be published towards the end of 2009. To make the nine books in that category I will also read the Lord John books.

Long, long ago I was working in a chain bookstore part-time while I was at university. We had lots of book signings and I bought a lot of books because the authors looked so lonely there alone at their table. Anyway, I bought a hardcover copy of Outlander from a very nice author and loved it. She signed the next three for me before I finished my degree.

I loved Outlander. I still re-read it and I still laugh at the same parts.

I heart Diana Gabaldon and her wonderful Outlander books. Reading you say that she was a very nice author makes me so happy! How lucky to have met her and subsequently have multiple autographed copies. Me=a little bit jealous!
