As seen on "Singlebooklovers.com":

"Religion and interest in religion: Was raised Catholic. I would like to find a religion that didn't insist on my shaking hands with people at some point in the proceedings. I tell people I'm a born-again Druid."

LOL. I guess that's why they're dateing online. No first meeting hand shake.

"I tell people I'm a born-again Druid."

And they imagine you running naked through the woods, and wonder why you won't shake hands... :)

You should read Mists of Avalon Tim.

>6 John5918: Something on which Joansknight and I agree - Mists of Avalon is a good book.

I would bet money Joan was being catty, and somehow connecting me to the sentiment in 1. I'll bet you a million dollars he doesn't like--and probably hasn't read Mists of Avalon. (I haven't read it either.) It's an article of faith among extreme Catholic traditionalists that the rest of us are somehow "pagans."

>7 timspalding:: I have read Mists of Avalon several times. I own a first edition of it. I mentioned the book because of your Druid reference because the book speaks of Druid rituals. Mists of Avalon is a wonderful retelling of the Arthurian legend.

>7 timspalding:, 8 Pity I never took Tim up on that bet - I'd be a millionaire by now! Yes, it is a wonderful retelling of the Arthurian legend.

>9 John5918:: Have you read any of the other books in Marion Zimmer Bradley; Avalon series?

I stand corrected! I would not have taken you for a fan of the work. It shows up as the top unsuggester for a lot of religious literature...

I do like non-Catholic fiction Tim.Mists of Avalon is a very thought provoking book with a tantalizing tale.

I did read it, but I'm afraid it didn't stick in my mind as much as The Sword in the Stone or Sword at Sunset, or even The Hollow Hills.

>1 timspalding: : Most Quaker meetings are pretty hands-off affairs, though they may involve one handshake (between two people, not everyone). Maybe that would do. Not as much healthy outdoor nudity as Druidism, though.
