I'm sure this has been suggested before, but would it be possible, using the Other Authors-->Cover Artist field matched up with specific editions, to generate cover galleries of all cover art attributed to a specific artist?

I haven't heard that suggested, but it's a very cool idea. I haven't ever put in a cover artist, but will start now!

I would love a feature like this.

Ideally, there should be a way to filter the resulting gallery by quality: either "All Covers" or only "High-Quality Covers".

That would be cool. I'd also like a coverart gallery per author.

That was the whole idea of me putting cover artist in the list of default roles. I'm quite interested in cover art. The plan is to do some interesting stuff with the data. But, of course, time and resources are always the limiting factor.

Okay, I am resurrecting this EIGHT YEAR OLD thread.

Did we ever do anything like a cover gallery for "all covers of a particular author"? I can't find it if so.

What we do have: We have "author gallery" for pictures of authors, and "user picture gallery" for images users have uploaded, and "your books cover gallery" for pictures of covers of your books.

Why it would be useful: A, it would just be fun, and make use of the covers. B, it would help users identify books ... "I remember reading a book, that looked like this ... it might have been this particular author or that one." Scanning covers can help! And I'm sure there are useful research purposes.

Cover Gallery could be (a) by author and (b) by artist. At the moment I really want "by author" but at other times I've wanted "by artist".

eta: Turns out I suggested this kind of cover gallery here in 2010 ( http://www.librarything.com/topic/104553 ) and now here (http://www.librarything.com/topic/55228)
