Does anybody have any good book recommendations for a 3rd grade boy?
I was trying to find some, but I could use some help. He is into sporty type things. Thanks!

How about Magic Treehouse? Has he outgrown them yet?

Two authors that I think he would like: Dean Hughes and Matt Christopher.
From Dean Scrappers and anything by Matt
Dang these touchstones

A lot of boys this age are into history when it involves wars. In the US most especially the Civil War and WWII. They also like books like Dragonology and Incredible Cross-sections by Stephen Biesty

My third grade son loves the Captain Underpants books. Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a big hit. Today he brought home The Doll People by Ann Martin. It's his first book to read that isn't full of animation.

Do kids still read Roald Dahl books? When I was in the third grade (many, many years ago) all of us loved them!

My son loved Hatchet by Gary Paulson. Any of Paulson's books are great for your son. They are full of outdoor adventures.
You can also try Invasion of the Road Weenies by David Lubar, Regarding the Fountain by Kate Klise, and Squids will be Squids by Jon Scieszka

Thanks for the suggestions everybody!

The book suggestions are for my cousin. And I made a mistake on his age. He is actually in second grade, but is reading at a third grade level. I think these books will still work for him. They are really good suggestions! Thanks for all of the help!!

Get him started on Jules Verne! It will really speak to his imagination. :)
