I am trying this one again. I read this book withing the last 10 years. A man, the main character, travels back in time to his high school days to solve a murder. He encounters his younger self. I thing he may have used a book of spells? There are the typical high school people, football player, the outcast kid, a female. The end occurs at a dance or a high school reunion when the killer is revealed. Can someone help me with this, please?

It sounds an awful lot like The Boys Are Back In Town by Christopher Golden. But you couldn't have read it too long ago, as it was just published last year...

It was actually published in 2004 - and I also think it's The Boys Are Back in Town.
