historical romance read it like 5 years ago

Ok the beginning there are these 2 feuding families and the children of one family are captured and held for ransom. They are ransomed and then fast forward a few years The eldest daughter is of the captured children is at home under the guardian ship of her stepmother and some evil guy which I think is her uncle. The opposing family captures her again, but it turns out to be more for protection than actual capturing. She falls in love with her capture and he with her. But she isn't really a hostage the hole family treats her very well. They know the brother/son considers her his woman. Ok so the captives father ends up showing up to save the captors family from a take over from the evil guardian. She ends up going back with her family and then discovers that she is pregnant and goes back and forces the captor to marry her because she refuses to allow her child to be born a bastard. Then she leaves and the captor comes after her and declare his love. I think it was based in scotland or england or maybe both

Any idea what period it is set in?

It was midevil. Not regency.

This book was also a paperback that I picked up on my way to work a night shift. It might have been 3 years ago. But I am pretty sure it was closer to 5.

Oh I just remembered when she was "captured" the second time it was because the hero interrupted her about to ravished by the evil guy. During her "captivity" she is taken back by the evil guy and he and the step mother kind of torture her. I remember thinking that this author did a very good job of portraying human evil. so the hero goes and saves her. and brings her back. That is when the evil guy decides that he has an excuse to lay siege to captors keep. The hero is captured by the evil guy and the evil guy plans on castrating him or something so the heroine does this stealth thing to rescue him. So hero and heroine are safely back in the keep, but they are under siege. It seems that all is lost then the Heroines father shows up realizes that the evil guy he left in charge of his keep and children is bad and that he has declared no quarter. So the father and the men he has with him fight together with captors family to save the day. Oh and the pregnancy that heroine discovers when she gets home turns out to be twins. So I remember alot about the plot but can't recall on name of any of the characters title or author.
