When checking my recommendations, clicking on "Recommendations by date" under "Recent recommendations" does not give me a static response. Every time I click it, I get a different list of recent recommendations.
In addition, I actually liked the new recommendations functionality -- recommending books already in my library but not in a recommendations collection. I figured it would help me pick which book to read next. Is there some way to reintroduce this as an option?

The "new functionality" was actually a bug. And losing it isn't a bug, it's a fix.
If you need help choosing your next book, you might want to ask in one of the "book nudgers" groups.

The first part of the original post is a new bug. I just reported it here:

AnnaClaire:
I know the majority of users considered the "new" recommendation style to be a bug, but as I already stated, I prefer it. I'm not asking for the "new" style to be reintroduced as the only or primary method, but as an option. My guess is that any "book nudger" group could also be used in place of the way that recommendations works now and has worked for years, but the automated tool is still very beneficial, isn't it?

Except the "new" style didn't work as you suggest it did -- it was giving recommendations for books in any Collection, not just those with "use for Recommendations" unchecked. (If you were seeing the latter behavior, it was a coincidence.)

4: I know Tim's been talking about a "recommendations per collection", which might help with what you're looking for.

If by that you mean something like filtering (which we can only do by tags at the moment), I would support that.

7: Exactly. It would exclude books we have listed already though.

I just want to mention that the bug I described in the first paragraph of my initial post is still going on.

Still not fixed. Is this the intended functionality or something?
