Okay, this was prompted by a lot of tangents during the "Who Am I?" game.

The idea is that you post your favorite track (and CD/album if relevant) by a musical group or individual artist, then post the group/artist for the next person to respond to.

In answer to LittleGeek's question about my favorite Prince track:

btw, "Space Truckin" was ruined for me because it was playing while i was in an uncontrollable car roll in the country. The car ended on it's side, and it was a long walk to get help. Kids, never ride without a seatbelt while balancing a boombox playing deep purple on your lap, on a dirt road in the country. I'm just sayin'.

Cornflake Girl

Have to back up to the "nobody likes the Dead" heresy. Favorite Dead song is Wharf Rat. Would like to point out that if one never saw them in concert, one couldn't appreciate them at their best--the recorded music didn't capture the wonderful trippy synchronicity of some of their concerts (not all, to be sure). Or the joyous, dancing-in-the-aisles vibe. Or the we're all peace-loving Deadheads togetherness. Or . . .

Maybe, if folks don't object, we could feel free (as I seem to have done) to comment on any of the last few artists mentioned, as long as we also ask for a new one.

My sister is a lounge lizards fan (got her PhD at UT), and I've heard their stuff at her place a time or two. Some of it's a bit much, but I like the lyrics to a lot of them. I can't remember the name of the one that piles up all the issues, something like "drug-smuggling illegal immigrant single mothers who believe in evolution." I'll go with "Just Another Stupid Texas Song."
