Okay, this was prompted by a lot of tangents during the "Who Am I?" game.
The idea is that you post your favorite track (and CD/album if relevant) by a musical group or individual artist, then post the group/artist for the next person to respond to.
In answer to LittleGeek's question about my favorite Prince track:

Thanks for reviving this thread, Eris. My favorite meat loaf is the one my wife makes. But rather than posting a new group I'll wait in the hope that someone will give you a real answer.

hat tip: You can't get away with wearing a hat in public anymore unless you are a cowboy, a 40s gangster, or the Queen.
Bat out of hell i guess. Although i like the song name I'll do anything for love (but i won't do that).

I wear a hat in public. It's a very nice black Tyrolean, and it looks pretty cool, especially with my black Sherlock-esque trench coat! But perhaps that means that I get away with it because I am a 40s gangster!

#163: Did you mean Attic Monkeys or Arctic Monkeys? I found both bands. You can find anything on YouTube. :o)

>#164: you could be a cold war spook. Presumably the bad guy. Do you speak like Boris Badenov? Here, try saying "moose und skwirrel"
168ErisofDiscord
"Moose und skwirrel! Eets not strategy, eets tragedy!"
Or, I could be Natasha.
"Boris! Vere are you?"
It's settled! I'm a Cold War spook! AWESOME!

I got Mrs53 a Steep Canyon Rangers (Steve Martin's bluegrassy band) CD for her birthday last week. Anybody heard them and have a favorite?
170ErisofDiscord
*turns down the metal on the radio* Huh? What you say? ;)
Well, I do remember seeing Steve Martin playing the banjo once, and he was pretty good, so I hope it is.

I don't do *shudders* bluegrass. Sorry! Anybody who does, would you like to take a crack at #169 to keep the game rolling? It would be a shame to let it die again so quickly.
173Jim53
OK, forget Steve Martin and his banjo. Let's go for one of his old flames instead. Anyone got a favorite by Linda Ronstadt?
174ErisofDiscord
"To know know know him, is to love love love him." I remember that one from my childhood - she did that song with Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris, so I hope that counts!

Tough call. I tend to like a few highlights from each (e.g., Butch Cassidy, Love Actually, Sister Act, Much Ado). For consistency I'll go with Sense and Sensibility.
(I'll have to look up this Bangarang. Thanks, I think.)
At the risk of killing the thread, does anyone have a favorite Miles Davis piece?

Did Harrison record music after the Beatles? I thought he ran a mung-bean stand on Highway 69.
Wait, i think he was a producer on an album by an ex-Talking Head. Does that count?

Well, after some research, it appears that he covered "Please Come Home for Christmas" for the Home Alone soundtrack. I've probably heard some of his other songs, but none of them jumped out at me as being familiar, so I'll say that one and get this game rolling again!
