Helloo
I'm kind of new to this genre, but I'm looking for some good fantasy books that you guys have read and loved. I remember reading a lot of fantasy books when i was younger, and I really liked them, but that was in elementary school, and now I can't seem to find really engrossing fantasy reads to get stuck in. All help would be appreciated -- I'm definitely lost. :)
xoxo

Hi Jackie! For a start, try looking here, there are lots of books listed: http://www.librarything.com/talktopic.php?topic=81175
Members of this group also voted on a list of "1001 Fantasy Books You Must Read Before You Are Turned Into a Newt" and if you look at that library list, you will find short summaries of many of the novels, as well as 463 separate recommendations: http://www.librarything.com/catalog/1001Fantasy/yourlibrary
If that's all too overwhelming, perhaps you could tell us a little more about what you're looking for. Do you like, say, dragons? Romantic fantasy? Vampires and werewolves? Fairies? Very long books? Regardless, I'm sure we can find you something!

Reconditereader has some good starting ideas. "Fantasy" is an umbrella term that encompasses pretty much every other genre out there, just with a magical twist to it, so having some other guiding points for recommendations are always handy. ^-^
If you can find them, you might also want to look at reading some more books by fantasy authors you've previously enjoyed.
I get the impression, from those fantasy books you've listed, that you enjoy fantasy books that mix in the real world. If so, you might want to check out books like Wicked Lovely (Melissa Marr) and Tithe (Holly Black). Both have a fair amount of romance to it, both have 'fairyrealms mix with real world', both are series dealing with heavier topics I also see in your books (drugs and abuse)... So they might be worth looking into since they appear to connect to several of the other books you've read.
Briar Rose (Jane Yolen) is a YA retelling of Sleeping Beauty, but I guarantee you it's like nothing you've ever read. There is virtually no fantasy in it and, again, has some overlap with books you've read and rated highly. (But, for the sake of potential spoilers, I'm shushing now.)
Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson is just about borderline fantasy. Beats me how to summarise it for you, though.
You might also enjoy Terry Pratchett's Discworld series or his collaboration with Neil Gaiman Good Omens. Discworld is parody/satire set in a fantasy world and Good Omens is similar, only set on Earth.
Hopefully these also give you at least a stronger starting point in finding what you're looking for in/from the genre. ^-^

Judging from what you have in your library, you might enjoy Isobelle Carmody (my housemate loves her books...), Garth Nix's Sabriel books, Terry Pratchett (start with Mort or Wyrd Sisters), or maybe Catherine Jinks' Evil Genius. Neil Gaiman is a favourite of many here - perhaps Stardust.

not to mention our very own authors Janny Wurts and Brandon Sanderson
Both are excellent fantasy authors

7Tane
Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay, followed by pretty much all of his other books.
Any Robin Hobb.
For some fantasy humour, Terry Pratchett's Discworld books might suit you.
Dare I mention The Lord of the Rings? ;-)

You guys are all so helpful! I don't know where to begin! Thanks so much, I will definitely be checking a lot of these out over the three day weekend :)
And I realize now that fantasy is a pretty broad category haha -- I'm thinking dragons and such? Really out of this world (I need some escapism from school :P) I'm ashamed to admit I've never read Lord of the Rings, but I will!
Thanks again! :)

Well hey, if you like dragons, this should help: http://www.librarything.com/tag/dragons,+fantasy

Oooh, high fantasy! ^-^ You should definitely start with The Hobbit instead of LotR, then, if you decide to try LotR. ^-~
Temeraire (or "His Majesty's Dragon", depending on the edition) by Naomi Novik might be something you'll enjoy, especially if you also like to read about battles and adventures. It's set in the Napoleonic era, but then with dragons.
You might also want to check out this thread: http://www.librarything.com/topic/53138 It's all about dragons. ^-^
