I'm just curious what books people would reccomend based off my favorite TV shows?

Battlestar Galactica
Dexter (besides the Dexter series, lol)
The Office
Black Books
Torchwood
Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman
Weeds
M*A*S*H
Buffy, The Vampire Slayer
Queer as Folk
Fraiser

Thanks!

*Yea, I meant THESE not THIS....

For something definitely Buffy-ish (paranormal thriller with witches, vampires, pixies, weres, and the like, combined with campish humor), try Kim Harrison's "Rachel Morgan" series (a/k/a "The Hollows") starting with the first book, Dead Witch Walking. Be sure you read them in order or you'll miss back-story.

As far as the Queer as Folk angle, "The Hollows" should also fit the bill because there's a very interesting relationship between two of the main characters, Rachel Morgan (a heterosexual witch) and Ivy Tamwood (bisexual vampire), who (together with a philoprogenitive pixie, Jenks) are proprietors of the detective agency Vampiric Charms. (Unfortunately, due to an error in a Yellow Pages listing, some callers mistakenly think it's a dating service for the vampirically oriented.)

EDIT: "Paranormal" thriller? Maybe the better description would be "supernatural" thriller. Whatever....

M*A*S*H is easy: Catch-22

For The Office, 'how about somebody quirky like Christopher Moore?

I have to agree on The Hollows - I really am enjoying that Series - Another one I really enjoyed that is very Buffy-esque is The Gardella Vampire Chronicles by Colleen Gleason there are 4 books in the series & it is based in the 1800's which puts a great twist to a female slayer in that era

For BSG (which I'm reading mostly as science fiction in space with really interesting characters and ideaish things to say), try things like Old Man's War, Starship Troopers and The Forever War.

#4> Hey, scrpo1027, thanks for the suggestion. I've never heard of Colleen Gleason, but since she's available on Kindle, I just bought the first volume, The Rest Falls Away, for my Kindle and I'm going to give her a try.
