Okay, me first. I'm the mastermind of the group read of Mrs. Dalloway, Richard. I'm a retired chicken sexer, born to the Tsar of Bulgaria's head of security and his morganatic wife, novelist Baroness Orczy (The Scarlet Pimpernel, et alii), in 1900. I was made a vampire on my 21st birthday, thus accounting for my eternally youthful good looks. The Tsar, upon learning of my accession to vampirehood, left the national good of Bulgaria to me in his will. Negotiations with international authorities being ongoing, I am prevented from discussing the situation further.

I want to play, and Mrs. Dalloway is on my TBR shelf, so I may as well read it WITH someone (sorry, Richard, you can't escape me). Sigh. The lady who cleans my house rearranged the books on my "short list" table yesterday and I still haven't recovered.

I'm Terri, non-retired, two-job-working, worn- plumb-to-a-frazzle old gal with fully grown sons. I have never sexed a chicken in my life (unless you count the ex-husband. I don't). My parents were ordinary, I am not a vampire, and I attribute my youthful good looks to lying.

Okay, me third. I am rainbebble; formerly known as nannybebette; real name belva. St. Richard and I are dear L.T. friends and he has reached out to me on a personal level when he thought it was needed. I love him and if he didn't have the preferences he does, we would be doing it like bunny rabbits!~!~! And yes, even in the snow!~!
St. Richard is one of two (Mark being the other) that I would follow to any group read.
I am married (38 yrs) to a County Sheriff's Dept dude in a big green hat, a firefighter and a jack of all trades; I am a retired banker; I now help care for my 91 year old mother, day-care my grandchildren and read a lot. I have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild. I love God, country, family, books, music & walking. I do not like liver, the dreaded Herman Melville, people who find it necessary to bad mouth the U.S. whilst living here. If you aren't happy here, get a passport & visa and go "there".
I also have never "sexed" a chicken but I do know that the rooster (probably for it's size) has the longest schlong of any living creature. I wonder why God did that? And did he give them a safety pouch or anything for to carry them around in? Hmmmmmmm; inquiring minds want to know. (Although in 2666, a dude has one a foot long at rest.)
Mrs. Dalloway will be a reread for me, but any excuse to read Virginia Woolf is reason enough for me. I don't even care what she writes about. I just love how she puts words down on paper; her phrasing, her timing.............everything literary about this woman is spectacular.

I have never read Virginia Woolf before so I am excited about giving it a try. Still haven't gotten a copy yet, but I will visit my favorite used bookstore next week. I love group reads because I learn so much from everyone else.

I am Snash or more normally Sharon. I'm a retired chemist and spend much of my new found time reading. I also do some writing and am involved in a research project on the history of my neighborhood. The last project now has me reading the town newspaper from 1860 forward. I'm now in year 1877 and finding it fascinating but rather slow going.

I read Mrs Dalloway about 2 month ago and it blew me away. I'm looking forward to exchanging observations

I discovered LT back in 2008 when I was conducting research into social media websites for my work, so I really do have my employer to thank for introducing me to this great place and everyone here :-)

I am a newbie to the writings of Virginia Woolf so I figured a group read is a great way to dive in. This one is also a great fit for my 1010 Challenge.

I will join everyone and start Mrs. Dalloway tomorrow once the Olympics are finished. I have a hockey team to cheer on this afternoon ;-0

Hello there! My name is Karen; I live in Minnesota. I was glad to see this group read of Mrs. Dalloway come up. Thanks to Richard for getting it going, and organizing it so well. I've participated in, and am still in, group reads that have kind of fallen apart (granted, they were for some very hefty books); it's hard to keep the momentum going, I guess.

Anyway, I work in circulation in my local library system and am always looking for further library opportunities (I went back to school and got a library degree). In my former life I was a computer programmer (snore!)

Glad to meet you all, and hope to chat some more when I get reading my copy (just picked up from the library yesterday).

Hello everyone. I've never read Mrs. Dalloway before either but I think the book is in one of my 2010 Challenges somewhere. One of my 10 book Challenges is to read 10 Virginia Woolf's. I can read Mrs. Dalloway here and also check it off my my list of the Virginia Woolf books to be read. I do have a question, what is a chicken sexer & how does one do it or become a chicken sexer? Enquiring minds want to know. Being a chicken sexer sounds kinky and dirty or is it just my mind that's in the gutter?

Well you all know I work in a Library and have been since 10/1/1978. I'm a Library Technician here in the Library. Basically I love my job and what I do except for the times when I'm under too much stress.

Hi everybody! I've never read anything by Virginia Woolf. My first choice might have been To the lighthouse but I once got Mrs. Dalloway from a friend who had it twice. This is some time ago and I never read it. This seems a good chance to finally read it. At the moment I'm about halfway. I have some difficulties with following who is thinking what, but overall I think I like it.
