Hi, I read this book about 5ish years ago. It was centered on the women in the story, written from the perspective of a woman. It followed the making of the ark, and watching Noah's family. (I can't recall if the main character was a member of this family or just watching.)
Thanks, this is driving me crazy.

Was it a teen book, or an adult one? Do you recall?

That having been asked, could it possibly be The Preservationist, by David Maine?

An adult book, I think.
No, not The preservationist.
Thanks for trying.

I could add that it reminded me of The Red Tent.

There's also Not the End of The World, but that's YA.

It was In The Shadow of the Ark. Thank you, that was driving me crazy.

I could see the cover in my head but not the title. I didn't want to mention flowy scarf and blue sky for fear of being the "cover" person. When I used to work a bookstore, we always hated it when people would come in and say things like..."Im looking for a book, I don't know who wrote it or what it was called but I do recall the cover was blue...or maybe purple." I often found what they were looking for and it usually in no way shape or form looked like what they had initially come in describing.
Anyway, Yay for figuring out another one. You guys are awesome!

8: Cover details are still something.

Remember, Name that Book found a book where the clue was a toothbrush on the cover. :)

Heck, Name That Book found a book where the clue was a scan of the original cover painting with a handwritten scrawl on the back (see The Nichovev Plot and associated discussion thread - that one was found in under a week...)
