I read this book many years ago (probably 15+ years) and would like to read it again, but I cannot remember the title or the author's name.
The story is based on a panel of the Bayeaux tapestry and involves a monk and a woman called Godgifu (Lady Godiver) I'm not certain but, I think the title has the word "gold" in it somewhere.
I'm hoping the wise souls at LibraryThing can help me find it.
Many thanks.

I haven't read it, but a quick look at the reviews for The Needle in the Blood by Sarah Bower suggest that it might be the book you're looking for.

The book is Warriors of the Dragon Gold by Ray Bryant. I read it a long time ago before I had ever heard of the Bayeaux Tapestry, but I remember it being excellent.

You found it!! Thank-you so much, I'm off to see if The Book Depository have it so I can order a copy. (I lent my original copy to a friend many years ago and it was never returned.)
Once again, thank-you very much.

Thank-you for looking through the reviews. I did that too and had a look at the book you've named, but it isn't the one.
Thanks again.
