I'm about to start the audiobook of A Dirty job by Christopher Moore, and I have Blameless by Gail Carriger next in line!

Not sure what Fantasy book I will be reading in October. Will check back when I have a book.
3Octane
In the middle of Colour of Magic, tentatively thinking about a reread of the Discworld series.

I just finished The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror 2007 and I'm still chipping away at my e-book version of Perdido Street Station. I started both of them back in March/April (!), but a transcontinental move and new job cut into my reading time, especially for the e-book.
Since I finished the anthology, I decided to start poking around the forest in Mythago Wood while I wait for my ER copy of Rivers of Gold to come in the mail.

I've been in Singapore Three with Inspector Chen. The fourth book is just as good as the rest!

Unfortunately the current publisher has pulled the plug and the next is not being published until Williams finds a new publisher. :(

> 8, Yeah its been pretty vile. Apparently they had stopped paying her and communicating with her, so she didn't know what was going on. I think they also have to tell her officially so she can get the rights back and try to sell the series elsewhere. Not sure that they even did that.

I was just in an alternative Victorian London in Gail Carriger's Soulless. I really liked the author's quirky sense of humor, but I found the romantic sub-plot somewhat ridiculous.

I thought she had the new publisher sorted already, it's a small press in the U.K., just can't remember the name. She is also doing Inspector Chen short story e-subscriptions through her Livejournal, although I think she's limiting them to 100 people for each.

Here you go, I went back a few pages in her LJ and found it: Morrigan Books.
The publisher's own blurb/newspost about it is here:

Well, thank goodness for that! I would hate to see Williams' books languish simply due to publisher incompetence.

I am happy to hear the she has another publisher. That said, I will believe it when I have a copy of Iron Khan in my hands.
Morrigan has an early August announcement and its now October. I went to Amazon.com, Amazon.uk, and Bookdepository.uk - all have the book as out of stock/print and still list it as being published by Night Shade.
I would think that Morrigan could have at least sent out updates to those sites, so that the fans of the series who don't know whats going don't write it off.

#10 I'm reading Soulless right now, too--should finish it today. It's definitely more romance-y than I normally go in for, but overall very entertaining.

In TunFaire with Garrett, P.I., enjoying my first time through the series.

I hear the sequels are a bit better so I'll probably buy them the next time I'm at the bookstore.
I was just in the Nightside in Just Another Judgment Day by Simon R. Green. It was a bit better than the last couple books in the series.

For some reason I'm reading something in the Forgotten Realms. It's not really doing the trick and I'm considering jumping ship to volume 5 of the Pelbar Cycle.
21SunnySD
I'm waiting on Burning Bridges for the further adventures of Wren and Sergei, and I'm just about to crack open the second Edge novel, Bayou Moon.
22janemarieprice
Finished the Mistborn Trilogy which I enjoyed a lot. Anyone else get a little bummed towards the end of a series? I do especially when I read them back to back like I did here.
23beniowa
I was in the Nightside once again in the tenth book in the series, The Good, the Bad, and the Uncanny by Simon R. Green. It was a little rambling, but it did have some interesting plot and character development.

Jane, if it's a series I'm very vested it, I always get a little sad when I reach the end. Sometimes, even when I can see how the story ends perfectly, I'm still not willing to say goodbye to the characters or the world yet. It sucks.
Readingwise, I've had a bit of a slump. I'm currently reading An Earthly Knight which is shaping up to be interesting. I wish I had the concentration needed to even open a book so I could read on. (I haven't been feeling well the past few weeks.)

#26 Oh so much to love about that series. But she treats her hero like crap, poor guy. But hey, it makes for great fiction.

I had to take a break from all the "grown-up" books I was reading so I've dipped my toe into the St. Aegolius Academy for Orphaned Owls - Guardians of Ga'Hoole: The Capture by Kathryn Lasky.

I'm in Tzarist Russia during the war with Napoleon - Twelve by Jasper Kent. I still haven't explicitly discovered the "fantasy" part of the book yet though there are strong hints.

Made a jump out of Discworld with Pyramids and hopped over to Kyralia in The Magician's Apprentice. I'm hoping it will prove as good a read as the Black Magician Trilogy was.

Finished Twelve by Jasper Kent. I thought it was rather dull. The bad guys (vampires) were uninteresting. The goods guys were uninteresting. The big reveal at the end wasn't particularly surprising. It was well written, just not terribly exciting.
Next up is A Mighty Fortress by David Weber. It's the 4th book in a science fantasy series set on the planet of Safehold.

After spending some time watching a picture called Fire and Hemlock, I've decided to pay a visit to The House on Durrow Street in Invarel. It's lovely to see Ivy and her friends and family again. ^-^

I just finished Devices and Desires by K.J. Parker. It was pretty interesting reading a fantasy from an engineering perspective. I didn't like it quite as much as I did The Folding Knife, but it was pretty good.
> #41
I didn't care that much for Twelve either.

Finally finished the Percy Jackson series. Being a grad student, it was good reading to just let my brain relax (which is why I love fantasy so much to begin with).
Don't know where I want to go next. I have an audiobook version of The Once and Future King by T.H. White that I might "read" next...
