"Medical Error" was one amazing thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat! It contained enough twists and turns that kept it interesting and made it a real page turner - especially towards the end. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and found the characters interesting and quite likable. The main character, Anna, was a strong female that was not only intelligent, but very interesting.
The storyline itself carried a lot of realism, making it one of those stories that you say, "Man - that really could happen!" I kept thinking I had figured out the who, what and why, only to have my mind change. At the end, I was positive I knew the answers, only to have a huge surprise ending leaving me shake my head, as I never saw it coming. I highly show more recommend this. show less

Dr. Anna McIntyre's life was going along just fine until suddenly everything seemed to go wrong for her. First, one of her patients die because of an identity mix-up, then the authorities come after her because of forged prescriptions, and after that she discovers her credit is in ruins as someone used her credit cards without her knowing. Her troubles just keep piling up, and she can't figure out what is going on. There are two men who are willing to listen and help; Dr. Nick Valentine, who works at the same hospital, and Attorney Ross Donovan, who is the man she hires to help her out of her mess. As Anna digs deeper on her own to discover who's behind the identity thefts, she will discover that someone out there doesn't like what she show more is doing. Finally, when her life is on the line, Anna will discover the truth. The real question is though, which man in her life will she reach out to when her life is on the line.
This was a good mystery and intrigue story and I would not have guessed how this all came about, but after finding out how it all happened it was a little scary to think about. Another good book in this series. These stories are written as stand alone stories and can be read in any order. show less

You probably will enjoy this book if you're a Christian who likes to believe everyone is a Christian and that any wayward sheep can be brought back into the fold. I tried the free Kindle edition, and I realized it was free because the author hopes to promote Christianity.
He did have a clever idea for a plot - the use of stolen identity through mail theft and use of those identities to obtain drugs and health services (insurance is a big problem in America!) - but the prose was sappy and weak, and the relationships between the characters trite and predictable, not to mention the unsubtle sermonizing. I appreciate the plot idea, but would have preferred to read it in a sentence or two.

I grabbed this e-book when it was free for my nook. I didn’t read it right away, but when I finally had time I really enjoyed this inspirational medical based story. There were a few problems with word spacing and dropped letters, but I don’t know if it was book editing or e-book formatting problems. It didn’t bother me, but I know some find it annoying.
The story is about a female doctor whose life is spiraling out of control when her identity is stolen. She is a woman of faith and therefore her decisions and daily life reflect that faith. In fact, at one point I was disappointed in a decision she made only to realize that her decisions was the morally right one. What was I thinking! The story is not “preachy”, but just part show more of her life.
I thought it was a good story and will definitely read more by this author. show less

I enjoyed the medical setting of this book and the complication of a doctor's stolen identity was an interesting 'what if' to consider. The two main male characters and their appeal to Dr. Anna McIntyre kept the romance part of the plot moving along—sort of (for me it was one of those books where I skimmed over the 'romantic' parts because they felt predictable and cheesy.)
I enjoyed the mystery aspect of puzzling out who had stolen Anna's I.D. and was truly concerned for the attractive leading lady when the guns came out (i.e. the suspense moniker = well earned).
Much was made of Anna's Christian faith, in that it was mentioned repeatedly, and yet it didn't seem to make a great deal of difference in how she handled her problems or show more chose her man.
All in all, the authentic medical milieu is what would entice me to read more Mabry books. show less
