Don't Need Friends is a great story about how children might feel when their friends move away. Rat feels lonely when his friend leaves but he does not want any friends unless it is Possum. It reminded me of during Katrina when all of my friends where in different places, and I did not want to make new friends where we were living. It shows children that is it okay to make new friends and still miss your old ones. ( )

Being Stubborn, a mouse helps a dog after what seems as a tumultuous relationship. It shows just how important friends are, and how without them, we really won't survive. ( )
