Ernie Pyle wrote people as well as it could be done. This book is a really nice series of snapshots of America in the 1930's.
Ernie Pyle is famous for his interviews with soldiers overseas during WWII, but this is a book about America. He and his wife traveled America, sending in interviews and this is a collection of those. Humerus, interesting and informative about America before WWII and lifestyles of common folks. Poignant as well.
