The Brave Little Tailor (Disney's Wonderful World of Reading)

Taken directly from the hugely successful 1938 Walt Disney / RKO Radio Pictures animated short film of the same name (regarded as one of the 50 greatest cartoons of all time); this is a condensed adaptation of a German folk tale collected by the Brothers Grimm which appears in 'Household Tales' as 'The Valiant little Tailor'.
This Disney's Wonderful World of Reading story is a yet further shortened version and recounts the story of how Mickey swats dead seven flies who are annoying him one day then goes about boasting of his deeds as "Killing 'seven' with one blow!" which is misinterpreted by the local villagers (who are being harassed by a somewhat larger menace) as meaning 'seven Giants' not seven flies! Thus, Mickey is mistaken for a show more hero and set the task by the local King of ridding the kingdom of the Giant menace. However through his skill at tailoring and with the help if a little luck, Mickey succeeds and wins Minnie's hand in marriage.
