A good story but for once I feel that the author tried to incorporate so many recipes into the book that the story dragged. A musical group, the Cinnamon Roll Six endures a bus accident and one of their members, Buddy has a broken wrist. But why is he murdered in the hospital? The death of the bus driver is also questioned but then dropped and we never really know if it was accidental or what. Add the fact that Hannah's love, Norman is getting married to Doctor Bev and the story is full. ( )

I have been reading this series for years now. To be honest, I got tired of the love triangle and stopped the series a few years ago. Then I started it up again on book 20 or 21. So now, I'm working my way back up the series.
I have to say this has been one of my favorite one of this series.

Hannah and sister Michelle had come upon a multi car wrecks due to weather conditions. One of the vehicles was a bus carrying a band which has turned over. The girls go down to help the occupants. The driver is dead but the band members have minor injuries. Since the ambulances were all busy, Hannah take the band members to the hospital in the cookie truck. One of the band members has an injured wrist/hand. When Hannah's Mom finds him dead, she knows immediately that he has been killed and asks Hannah to investigate.
Dr. Bev, a good friend of Norman's, has come to town and is working along side of Norman in his practice. Dr. Bev has a daughter and she claims that Norman is the father. Norman, being Norman, wants to do the right thing and proposes to Bev. But something isn't quite right. All of Hannah's sisters and friends want Hannah to investigate. So now Hannah is investigating two cases. ( )

What do you serve when the jazz band Cinnamon Roll Six is coming to play at a weekend festival? Cinnamon Rolls, of course! In Cinnamon Roll Murder, Hannah Swensen is busily baking goodies for the festival when an accident occurs. The band's tour bus wrecks, injuring the keyboard player, Buddy Neiman. Buddy's injuries are minor and he's recovering in the hospital when someone decides he should take a turn for the worse. Hannah's mother discovers Buddy's dead body in his hospital room. The keyboard player has been stabbed repeatedly with a pair of surgical scissors. Once again, Hannah, her family and several of her friends are on the case to discover a killer.

There's no delicate way to say this....so I'm just going to blurt it out. The best part of this entire book was when Norman (Hannah's sort-of-love-interest- kinda-boyfriend-whatever-he-is) finally grew a set. Instead of being a push-over and not standing up for himself, Norman took care of a situation he was in with manly strength and determination. Go, Norman! Finally!!

The Hannah Swensen series is definitely a "cozy'' mystery series.....the plot is a light mix of humor, murder mystery and small town drama. There is no spurting blood, cussing, steamy sex or graphic violence. This book is just perfect for a few hours of relaxing reading. The book is just under 300 pages...so it's a quick read. Most of the recipes included in Cinnamon Roll Murder are desserts but there are also some main courses and appetizers, too.

Cinnamon Roll Murder is the 15th Hannah Swensen Mystery. There are 20 books, with #21, Banana Cream Pie Murder, coming out in February!

Anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries and baking will love these books! :) ( )

I enjoyed this visit with Hannah and her friends. Have to wonder how long Mike & Norman are going to put up sharing Hannah's affections. ( )

The Cinnamon Roll Six jazz band is scheduled perform at Lake Eden’s Weekend Jazz Festival and Hannah Swensen is baking cinnamon rolls to welcome them. But their bus overturns in bad weather and one of the band members, Buddy Neiman, the keyboard player, is injured. Although his wrist is only sprained, things get much worse for Buddy when he reaches the emergency room and someone plunges a pair of scissors into his chest.

And just to add to the craziness around Lake Eden, Norman’s wedding to Doctor Bev looms in the very near future . . . .

For this, the fifteenth outing for the Eden Lake gang, most of the expected characters are in place. On the plus side, there’s an unforeseen so-so solution regarding the death of the bus driver and there are a few unexpected twists before identifying Buddy’s murderer in this quick-read cozy mystery. But there’s still the annoying Norman/Hannah/Mike triangle, and body shaming is alive and well.

In between the coffee-drinking and cookie-munching, the mystery wraps up.

And there are all those recipes. ( )
