A quick but enlightening read into the life of a young half-Jewish girl, Sophie, who came to London from Germany through the Kindertransport during the Second World War to live with a family friend. Although not a true story, this is historical fiction and like Sophie, the author was also one of these children.

Following Good-bye Marianne (1999) and Remember Me (2000), this riveting novel, set in London, completes the author's Kindertransport Trilogy.
