I listened to the Escape Pod audio version of this, a chilly post-human fairy tale with nods to Dora The Explorer as a young girl is sent alone by her parents to travel through dangerous countryside to her grandmother's house with her knapsack and her map and her Dala Horse. On the way she meets a troll, who is being chased by someting even more dangerous than himself.
Quite nice. An almost-retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, in a post-apocalyptic setting redolent of Scandinavian mythology and techno-magic. A little girl is sent away by her parents to escape unknown danger, on a perilous journey to her grandmother's house.
Strange story of a lost child with a talking toy horse who is befriended by a troll.
