Baby, Don't Go

Took me a little longer to get into Marcus' story than Porter's (I mistakenly skipped middle brother Kendall) but not for lack of love of Marcus but because of his lady love. The one the only ultimate feminist Alicia.

Seems she writes a column for a NY based magazine where she is just that, the ultimate feminist. She believes that what's going on in Sweetness is too good to be true. That the women who answered the ad to move to Sweetness for all the single men and to grow a town from the ground up is a front for something sinister and so against women's rights and what not. How serious and stead fast Marcus could lose his heart to the bitter and conniving Alicia is beyond me. Maybe just comes down to "opposites attract".

I loved hearing show more about the other couples and how their relationships were going. The locals and whom was dating who and who were just pining for others, waiting to get noticed by that someone special.

It was a good story in the sense of seeing the town folk pull together time and time again. To know a place where everyone knows their neighbors, people smile and say hi, and the simple things mean the most. Family, faith, and community. Just wish she could have been a little more likable...then maybe Alicia winning Marcus' love would have felt like a completion to the story of Sweetness. show less

Third in the Southern Roads trilogy. This time it's Marcus' turn to fall in love, Alicia, a feminist columist comes to town to research why the Armstrong men invited a town of women down to solve their lack of women problem. She expects to write a blistering report, now fall in love with one of the Armstrong men

This was an ok read. I got frustrated with the matchmaking and the couples from the previous two books. I really liked the aspects that dealt directly with the h/h and the rebuilding of the town.

I really like this series about the town of Sweetness was destroyed by a F5 strom. Only the water tower survived. The Armstong brother came back home to rebuild the town. They brought in lots of workers that lived in a bunkhouse. But no women, so they put out ad in Broadway Michigan for women and offered a free room and board lots of single guys. To help build a town again with green jobs and buildings stronger.
Alicia Randall writes for a magazine feminist. Alicia is a afended by the asking for women. Alicia goes undercover for her stories so she heads to Sweetness. Alicia walks into the dinner to ask for a job and comes out manager.
The manager just quit but everyone who had worked quit and show more the food not good.
Marcus is not looking for a relationship he is too busy building the town so when inspectors come they will get the grant and the land of Sweetness belongs to the
residents.
I have read a few of the stories and have liked them and would love to read the books that had already come out. I was given this ebook in exchange of hones review from Netgalley show less
