Description
The dazzling Lytton twins, Adele and Venetia, are born into the great Lytton publishing empire. In 1928, on their eighteenth birthday, they are rich and admired, with a confidence verging on arrogance. But the spectre of Nazi Germany is growing... Gradually their privileged world darkens in unimaginable ways - but it is not just the twins whose lives have been irrevocably changed. Barty Miller, rescued from the London slums in babyhood by Celia Lytton, is clever, ambitious, and a complete show more contrast to the twins - and she faces temptation of the most unexpected kind... show lessTags

Second in her spoils of time series, this was my first penny vincenzi. What I like about penny is how she places her characters in a historical context and then follows up their fortunes. The first of the series NO Angel traces the fortunes of the lytton publishing empire through the first war and then "Something Dangerous" which is the second one is set against the backdrop of the second world war. I am looking to get my hands on the 3rd volume which i hope will be a befitting end to the riveting series.
Second book in the Lytton trilogy, following the family through the Depression and WW2.
Still interesting, but I found the increase in sexual liaisons/romances less compelling. Barty's romances in particular seemed unbelievable and out of character.
More characters I found completely unlikable: Laurence Elliott, Luc Lieberman.
I was not absorbed anywhere near like with the first book. I found myself predicting what would happen in various situations, and they turned out exactly like I thought, which was disappointing.

The second book of the series is every bit as good as the first, emphasis shifts to Celia's twin daughters Adele and Venetia.
Second in the series about the Lyttons, after WW I and then WWII
As good as it gets: The second in the series "the spoils of time" about the Lytton family.
I would love to be able to write like that. Highly recommended
