They say she's Cynthia Dempsey, fiancée of media mogul Will Taylor. But try as she might, she can't recall their high-society life or the man sitting by her hospital bed. Though her body certainly remembers him. Even as she senses the distance between them, the electricity when they touch is undeniable. Will can hardly believe Cynthia's transformation. Gone is the ice queen who betrayed him, and in her place is a woman who seems genuine and warm. But can he risk his heart again, not knowing what might happen when her memory returns? Badly injured in a plane crash, a woman awakens with no idea who she is. Immediately introduced to family and a fiancé she has no recollection of, Cynthia Dempsey must rediscover herself and the man who has trouble reconciling this sweet and caring woman with the treacherous ice queen who betrayed him in the past.
The beginning of this romance is reminiscent of [b:Mirror Image|685788|Mirror Image|Sandra Brown|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1344265614l/685788._SY75_.jpg|358067] by Sandra Brown, one of my all-time favorite mistaken-identity novels.
However, aside from the two women exchanging seats immediately prior to the crash, the plots are very different as Brown's heroine does not suffer from amnesia. Rather she assumes the other woman's identity in order to solve a mystery.

"Cynthia" and Will are likable characters and their romance is engaging up to a point. As soon as the truth is revealed, Will's behavior leaves much to be desired. He leaves his intelligence and common sense behind, and ignores the facts to believe the worst about the heroine. This is exceedingly irritating and puts a damper on the relationship.
Another issue is the focus on clothing design. This might be my own personal issue as I am really not a fan of clothes or fashion, so this aspect of the storyline went right over my head.
All in all, this is quick read, but for anyone looking for an intense romantic-suspense thriller with similar themes, you cannot go wrong with Sandra Brown's masterpiece. ( )
